This page contains information about installing the latest Huawei driver downloads using the Huawei Driver Update Tool.
Huawei drivers are tiny programs that enable your Huawei hardware to communicate with your operating system software. Maintaining updated Huawei software prevents crashes and maximizes hardware and system performance. Using outdated or corrupt Huawei drivers can cause system errors, crashes, and cause your computer or hardware to fail. Furthermore, installing the wrong Huawei drivers can make these problems even worse.
Recommendation: If you are inexperienced with updating Huawei device drivers manually, we highly recommend downloading the Huawei Driver Utility. This tool will download and update the correct Huawei driver versions automatically, protecting you against installing the wrong Huawei drivers.
Huawei Device Driver Was Not Successfully Installed
Hi, I am using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 on a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, with all of the updates on the system and updated regularly. Last week I bought a USB stick device from a provider (Meteor, Ireland) to connect to the internet using this stick. I followed the instructions; inserted the stick, waited for a few minutes for the Autorun program to start but it never started. Then I went to 'my computer' to start the installation program manually, I saw 2 new drives, F and G, and when I clicked on each, they just disappeared one by one. As the new drives disappeared, I could not go into the folders and locate the installation programs.
I then went to windows update to check if there is any driver update for this device, and it showed me 'Dibcom 9080 TV Tuner device' update. I attempted to install, but the insatallation was unsuccessful. I tried it again, another failed installation warning message showed up.
Then, I went into the device manager, saw the yellow warning icons next to 'USB Mass Storage Device' and 'Dibcom TV Tuner Device', I uninstalled them, restarted the computer and tried to install the device again. When I inserted the device into the USB port, 'installing new hardware' box appeared and I waited for about half an hour, which is too much I think. The installation dialog box was saying 'Searching for preconfigured drivers', which I assume my system was not looking into the USB device for the drivers but for the windows system itself and spending too much time.
The result was failure, even if the dialog box said 'Your device is ready to use', I was not able to enter into the device and setup the Mobile internet connection software, namely, 'Broadband to Go'. The device manager showed a yellow warning message next to 'Dibcom TV Tuner device', 'USB Mass Storage Device' and there are 2 'USB Mass Storage Device' items under the USB section of the device manager.
This device was installed and is working perfectly from my work laptop which runs on Windows XP Professional, that I am writing this message from. On the device manager, under dfferent sections I can see Huawei related items, such as Disk Drives, DVD/CD-ROM drives, Modems, Ports and USB Controllers.
My theory is; Vista is thinking that device is Dibcom TV Tuner device, trying to load those false drivers and this is conflicting with the device itself. Even if I am able to enter the device's folders and install the software, every time I stick it, Vista will run the stick as a TV Tuner Device and that would create a conflict. Based on this theory, I went ahead to the registry and searched for everything named 'dibcom' and '9080' and I deleted all of the registry items, but this did not work either, whenever I plug the stick into the laptop, Dibcom TV Tuner drivers successfully (!!) load and I am unable to utilize this device to connect to the internet.
I hope I have given enough information for troubleshooting. Please let me know if you need more info.
Thanks,
